The world is failing millions of people.
While industries race to deploy new technologies, entire communities remain in the dark—literally.
Energy poverty isn’t just about inconvenience; it’s about survival.
Hospitals without power. Schools that shut down at dusk. Families forced to choose between food and fuel.
GE4A refuses to accept this reality.
We’re not just building another solar solution—we’re leading a movement that saves lives.
And Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Sub-Saharan Africa’s largest university, is standing with us.
Together, we’re proving that a truly sustainable future isn’t just about clean energy—it’s about justice, dignity, and survival.
Powering Africa’s Largest University—And Protecting Its People
In January 2025, GE4A and ABU signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to transform the university’s energy infrastructure.
But this isn’t just about reducing costs or cutting emissions.
This is about delivering power where no one else will.
Through GE4A’s Energy Hubs, we are taking discarded solar panels, batteries, and energy storage systems—waste that would otherwise poison our planet—and turning them into lifesaving resources.
These decentralized systems will provide 24/7 renewable energy, ensuring that ABU’s students, researchers, and healthcare facilities are never left in darkness again.
"This isn’t just about a university—it’s about proving that sustainable energy can be a lifeline for communities left behind" says Toralf Nitsch, CEO of GE4A.
"We show that no one should be denied access to energy just because they weren’t born in the right place."
More Than Energy—We Fight for Human Dignity
Lifesaving Solar for Hospitals and Clinics
No power means no refrigeration for vaccines. No ventilators. No emergency care after sundown. ABU’s transition to 100% solar energy means its medical facilities will never be without the power they need to save lives every single day.
Empowering Students for a Better Future
Education is the first step out of poverty, yet thousands of African students are forced to study in darkness. By delivering uninterrupted clean energy, GE4A is ensuring that learning never stops—creating the doctors, engineers, and leaders who will shape Africa’s future.
Bringing Energy to Communities No One Else Will Help
This project doesn’t stop at ABU’s gates. The excess energy generated by ABU’s Energy Hub will be distributed to surrounding neighborhoods—powering homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure where no utility company dares to go. GE4A’s initiative doesn’t just fight energy poverty—it eradicates it.
A Model the World Must Follow
ABU is just the beginning. GE4A’s circular energy model is built for global impact. This isn’t about charity—it’s about rebuilding an industry that has failed the world’s most vulnerable.
Our model in an overview
- Eliminates Solar Waste: By refurbishing panels and batteries instead of discarding them, we prevent millions of tons of hazardous e-waste from polluting our planet.
- Cuts Energy Costs by 40%: Affordable energy means more funding for healthcare, education, and local economies—not just keeping the lights on.
- Creates Jobs and Training: ABU’s students will be at the forefront of this movement, learning to maintain and expand these systems across Africa
This partnership is not just about ABU. It’s about proving that African-led solutions can solve global problems. Together with GE4A, we are setting a new standard—one that the world can no longer ignore."

Join the Movement That’s Saving Lives
The energy crisis isn’t coming—it’s already here.
And it’s claiming lives every day.
The time for waiting is over. The time for action is now.
Phase one of this project launches in February 2025, with feasibility studies and community consultations.
But we’re thinking bigger.
In Summer 2025, GE4A and ABU will host the Global Energy Innovation Summit, showcasing how circular energy can redefine the future for billions.
